Philodendron weberbaueri Engl.
SUMMARY
Stem scandent, upper internodes short, 2-3 cm thick. LEAVES: Petiole subterete, 45 cm long, with a ca. 4.5 cm sheath at the base. Blade coriaceous, cordate-ovate, 45 cm long, 30-35 cm wide; posterior lobes semi-orbicular. separated by a large, deep sinus; anterior lobe ovate, narrowing towards the apex in an extrorse arcuate line, with a 1 cm long acumen, almost 6 times longer than the posterior lobes; 4 primary lateral lobes of the posterior lobes on each side shortly joined together; 4 spreading and interlobar veins borne from the base; 4-5 rather robust erect-spreading costal veins. INFLORESCENCE consisting of 4-5 peduncles, 4 cm long. Cataphylls linear-lanceolate, 5-6 cm long, soon destroyed. Spathe oblong, apex very shortly apiculate, 3.5-4 cm long, convolute, 6-7 cm large. Spadix sub-sessile, female zone cylindric, barely 2 cm long, male zone claviform, 5 mm thick. Pistils ovoid, 1.5 mm long, contracted above in a short style, with a discoid stigma, 4-locular, locules uni-ovulate. Male flowers usually tetrandrous. Stamens prismatic, somewhat longer than wide, with oblong thecae.
