SUMMARY
Tuber depressed globose, slightly elongate or irregular, 2–7 × 1.8–6 cm high, usually producing a few annual, non-severing offsets, these subglobose or fusiform. Leaf solitary; petiole smooth, slender, 22–32 cm × 7 mm; leaf blade highly dissected, 36–45 cm, rachises only narrowly winged in the most distal branches; main segments subdichotomous, in smaller leaves the central one unbranched; leaflets lanceolate, 5–12 × 1.5–3 cm, base decurrent or nearly so, acute, apex long acuminate. Inflorescence solitary, long pedunculate; cataphylls to 15 cm long; peduncle appearance as petiole, 11–39 cm × 5–8 mm, smooth, pale pinkish or pale reddish brown, with scattered, narrowly elongate, blackish green or dark reddish brown spots; spathe elliptic, distinctly concave, 5–13 × 2–6 cm, base shortly convolute or entirely open, not separated from the limb, apex acute, shortly apiculate, base interior with few or many, loosely arranged, hemispherical or slightly elongate warts, off-white with a very indistinct pinkish flush, exterior as interior but slightly darker and with darker venation, with or without a few scattered, dirty dark greyish greenish spots; spadix sessile, equalling spathe or slightly longer, rarely shorter, 5.5–12 cm long; pistillate flower zone cylindrical, 0.7–2.5 cm × ca 8 mm, flowers congested or ± distant; ovaries depressed, circular or angular in cross-section, 1.5–2.5 mm × ca 1 mm high, pale green; style 0.8–1.2 × 0.4–0.8 mm, white; stigma large, disciform with a shallow central depression or bilobed with lobes usually folded upwards, the acute tips meeting, 1.3–1.5 × 0.3–0.7 mm; staminate flower zone cylindrical, 1.7–5 cm × ca 8 mm, flowers congested; staminate flowers 2–4-androus; stamens 1.5 mm long; anthers truncate, 1.4 × 0.8 mm; appendix conical, apex obtuse or acute, smooth or with a few indistinct costae, 1.5–4 × 1–1.4 cm, dirty pale greyish brownish. Fruit not seen.
