SUMMARY
Subcaulescent herb, stem very short, nearly 2 cm thick. LEAVES: Petiole very slender, canaliculate, 15 cm long, shortly sheathed at the base, geniculum 2 cm long, canaliculate. Leaf blade subcoriaceous, subsagittate, 20 - 25 cm long, 12 - 19 cm wide, posterior lobes 2.5 times shorter than the anterior, semi-auriculate, rounded, separated by a narrowly campaniform sinus; basal primary lateral veins three, joined into basal ribs very shortly denuded in the sinus, in the anterior lobe ca. 10 primary lateral veins arising from the midrib [?on each side?] at an angle of ca. 30 deg., slightly curved, joined into a collective vein near the margin, finer veins prominulent, loosely reticulate. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle very slender, 3 times longer than petiole, rigid, 30 - 35 cm long. Spathe subcoriaceous, rigid, lanceolate, acuminate, rounded and clasping at the base, 4 - 5 cm long, 12 mm wide. Spadix with a 4 - 5 mm long stipe, rigid, cylindric, in flower 4.5 - 5 cm long, ca. 5 mm thick, purple.
