| Abstract: | Zomicarpella maculata N. E. Br. (Araceae) was described from Colombia in the year 1881 and was never found again until recently when three new collections from Peru were made. A second species, Zomicarpella amazonica Bogner, was described in the year 1997. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of the genus Zomicarpella N. E. Br. and the two species are given; its history, identity and relationship are also discussed. Keys for the four genera of the tribe Zomicarpeae and for the genus Zomicarpella N. E. Br. are included. |
