SUMMARY
Rosulate herb with ca. 8 leaves. Stem very abbreviated. LEAVES: Petiole pendent or patent, up to 56 cm long, up to 11 cm longer than the blade or shorter, dirty green, subterete, adaxially sulcate, geniculum reddish, 3 cm long. Leaf blade more-or-less pendent, coriaceous but brittle, smooth adaxially, dull dark green, in outline elongate ovate-triangular, sagittate at base, acute-acuminate at apex, up to 45 cm long, 18 cm wide, posterior lobes semi-circular, somewhat retrorse, 8.4 cm long, separated by a narrow sinus, primary lateral veins on each side with three arising from the base, the innermost curving and then running to the apex at 1 cm distance from the largin, the rest curved backwards and curving upwards then disappearing into the margin, basal ribs denuded in the sinus for 1 - 2.5 cm. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle up to 58 cm long. Spathe patent, dirty green, subcoriaceous, sub-oblong, clasping at the base, attenuated at the apex, up to 10 cm long and 2.6 cm wide, with revolute margins. Spadix nearly sessile, brown-purple, 9.7 - 13.5 cm long and 1 cm thick. Berries globose-ovoid, 1.3 - 1.5 cm long, and 1.2 - 1.5 cm thick, intensely wine-coloured.
