SUMMARY
Stem abbreviated. Cataphylls lanceolate, up to 10 cm long in adult specimen, eventually becoming fibrose. LEAVES: Petiole twice as long as blade, in adult plant 50 cm long, 3 mm thick, geniculum 2 cm long. Leaf blade ovate-oblong in juvenile plant, in adult cordate-ovate or cordate-oblong-ovate, long-acuminate, 1.5 to 2 times as long as wide, 22 - 25 cm long, 10 - 12 cm wide, basal primary lateral veins 3, the lowermost nearly horizontal and soon running into lower margin, the second curving and running into the margin in the lowermost fifth or quarter of the blade, the third and innermost ascending and joining the ca. 8 midrib primary lateral veins on each side. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slender, nearly 50 cm long. Spathe even in adult plants small, linear lanceolate, acute, 5 cm long, 5 mm wide. Spadix with a 5 mm long stipe, up to 8.5 cm long, 5 mm thick, often shorter. Berries 3 mm thick.
