Anthurium pulchellum (Araceae)
Stems small, scandent, branching, up to 70 cm long, internodes 3 - 7 cm long, 4 mm thick. Cataphylls lanceolate, partly covering the internodes, 3 - 5 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole 4 - 5 times shorter than blade, ca. 2 cm long, 1 mm thick, canaliculate adaxially, shortly sheathed, geniculum rather long. Blade coriaceous, darkish green, elongate-lanceolate, cuspidulate, 8 - 10 cm long, 2 - 2.5 cm wide, very acute, primary lateral veins ca. 20 on each side, hardly any thicker than secondaries, patent, somewhat prominent, joined into a collective vein about 3 mm from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slender, more than half as long as leaf. Spathe lanceolate, clasping at the base, very acuminate, 2 cm long, ca. 7 mm wide at the middle. Spadix slender, cylindric, ca. 2.5 cm long, stipe more than 3.5 cm long, much longer than the spathe. Tepals short, wide, brown-striolate. Filaments spathulate, anthers short, divaricate. Ovary shortly ovoid, contracted into a short style. Ovules attached in locule above the middle. Flowers in the specimens available not completely mature.
Subequatorial Andine Province. Colombia, Cauca, on trees in shaded forests above Cali.
