SUMMARY
Stem up to 80 cm long, erect, as thick as a finger. Cataphylls elongate. LEAVES: Petiole 40 - 50 cm long. Blade more than 40 cm long, 20 cm wide, thick coriaceous, blue-green, oblong-sagittate, posterior lobes semi-oblong, ca. 8 cm long, 7 cm wide, somewhat introrse, separated by a deeply rounded sinus, anterior lobe shortly acuminate, basal primary lateral veins 7 on each side, the lower 5 joined into a basal rib long-denuded in the sinus, curved and ascending near the margin and running out into it, the remaining two basal veins turning upwards, the lower running into the margin, primary lateral veins of the midrib 7 - 8 [on each side] , arising at 60 deg. to the midrib, parallel to each other, joining with the uppermost basal vein into a collective vein 2 - 3 mm distant from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 15 cm long. Spathe 6 cm long, 2 cm wide, broadly lanceolate, shortly apiculate, blood-coloured, reflexed. Spadix 7 cm long, 6 mm thick, on a 1 cm long stipe. Tepals almost 2 mm long an wide, densely striolate. Stamens almost 1 mm wide, 2 mm long, sub-spathulate, brown-striolate below the anthers. Anther thecae divergent-ovate. Ovary oblong with a 2 mm long discoid style; ovule affixed slightly below the apex of the locule.
