Anthurium silvicola (Araceae)
Stem ca. 2 cm thick, internodes abbreviated. Cataphylls lanceolate. LEAVES: Petiole 3 - 3.5 times shorter than blade, ca. 13 - 17 cm long, subterete, obtusely angled and narrowly canaliculate above, geniculum 7 - 8 mm long. Blade coriaceous, rigid, somewhat glossy on both sides, linear-lanceolate, equally narrowed at both ends, long-acuminate acute, 40 - 45 cm long, 5 - 6 cm wide; primary lateral veins arcuate, 1 - 2 cm apart, joined into a collective vein 2 - 3 mm from margin, strongly prominent below, minor veins rather densely reticulate (prominent when dry). INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle longer than petiole. Spathe lanceolate, 6 - 7 cm long, 1.5 cm wide, green to copper coloured. Spadix sessile, 1 cm thick, cylindric, obtuse, 2 times longer than spathe, ca. 10 cm long. Tepals twice as long as broad, 2.5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, brown. Ovary oblong, 2.5 mm long, 1.5 mm thick.
Colombia. Middle slopes of the Western Andes near Popayán, La Conga.
