Anthurium subhastatum Schott
SUMMARY
Internodes short. Cataphylls 4 - 5 cm long, 1 cm wide. LEAVES: Petiole 20 cm long, geniculum 1 cm long, 2 mm thick. Leaf blade ca. 20 cm long, above the posterior lobes almost as wide as they are, anterior lobe 5 - 6 cm wide, 15 cm long, at the apex almost sharply or rather gradually acute and at the very tip terminating in a long narrow cusp, posterior lobes ca. 4 - 5 cm wide, subtriangular, extrorse, rounded at the mouth of the sinus, spreading by a very open, shallow sinus, basal lateral veins 4 on each side, upper (midrib) lateral veins 7 - 8 on each side; collective vein arising from the interlobe veins, continuous, near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle a little longer than the petiole, 15 - 17.5 cm long, 1.5 mm thick, slender. Spathe linear-lanceolate, cuspidulate and subulate at the tip, 3 cm long, 0.75 - 1 cm wide. Spadix with a 4 mm long stipe, in flower 3.5 cm long, in fruit 4 - 5 cm long. Berries ovoid, narrowed into a style, 4 mm long, 3 mm thick. Seeds oblong, micropyle apiculate. Embryo narrow.
