SUMMARY
Stem slender, up to 1.5 m long, internodes 2 - 3 cm long, almost 1 cm thick. Cataphylls 2.5 - 3 cm long, concealing the internodes, soon decomposing. LEAVES: Petiole ca. 10 cm long, shortly geniculate. Blade subcoriaceous, from the base ovate and emarginate [shallowly notched], lanceolate, 15 - 20 cm long, 5 - 7 cm wide in the lower portion, narrowing into an acumen; primary lateral veins ca. 10 on each side, the lowermost basal 1 - 2 veins terminating in the margin, the rest ascending and joined into a submarginal collective vein 3 - 5 mm from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncles slender, 14 - 20 cm long. Spathe lanceolate, acuminate, about as long as spadix, ca. 5 cm long, 1.2 cm wide, acuminate. Spadix with a stipe 1 - 2mm long, subcylindric, pale green, ca. 5 cm long, 5 mm thick. Tepals 1 mm wide, 1.5 mm long. Ovary ovoid, 1.5 mm long, narrowed into a conoid style. Stamen filaments wide.
