SUMMARY
Stem short or contracted. LEAVES: Petiole 60 - 95 cm long, terete and not canaliculated, geniculum 1 inch long, terete, thickened. Leaf blade elongate-oblong, gradually narrowed towards the apex, 50 - 90 cm long, 20-25 cm wide, posterior lobes semi-oblong, very obtuse, either overlapping or separated by a very narrow triangular sinus, basal primary lateral veins retrorse, primary lateral veins of the midrib 18 - 25 on each side or more, patent, curving near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle terete, ca. 50 cm long. Spathe 7 - 8 cm long, 3 - 4 cm wide, erect at first, later reflexed, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, subcordate at the base, coriaceous, pure- to ivory- white. Spadix a little shorter than spathe, subsessile, whitish rose. Tepals white, oblong, obtuse at the apex, somewhat horned abaxially. Stamen filaments white, flattened, 4 times longer than anthers. Ovary elongate, oblong, with a rudimentary stigma.
