SUMMARY
Hemiepiphytic plant, feeder roots; internodes 1-1.5 cm long, 3-4 cm in diameter. LEAVES: Prophyll ca. 30 cm long, marcescent. Petiole 58-79 cm long, 1.3-1.6 cm in diameter, cylindric, green, lighter green on the adaxial side, with dark extra-floral nectaries, when cut producing a yellow gold resin. Leaf blade trifid, hastate, coriaceous, margins slightly undulating, upper surface dark green, lower surface light green; anterior division 38-44.5 cm long, 19-20.5 cm wide, ovate, ovate-elliptic, apex acuminate to obtuse, base narrowed 12-14.5 cm wide, primary lateral veins 4-5 on both sides, with interprimaries present; posterior division 12.8-15 cm long, 20-29 cm wide, ovate-elliptic, asymmetric, sinus square-campanulate, apex obtuse, narrowed at the base on the acroscopic side, strongly rounded on the basioscopic side, 2 acroscopic primary lateral veins, 4-5 basiscopic ones. INFLORESCENCES 4-5 from the same point. Peduncle 7-10 cm long, with numerous dark purple marks towards the apex. Spathe to 18 cm long, translucent towards the 4-7 mm margin; tube sub-inflated, sub-equal in length to the blade, externally pale green with dark purple marks, internally pink-crimson; blade externally yellowish with numerous small red marks. Spadix equal to the spathe, shortly stipitate; male zone 9 cm long with the fertile zone clavate, narrowed towards the base, sterile zone sub-thicker. Female flowers short, barely longer than thick, ovaries 8-11-locular, locules 5(4-6)-ovulate, ovules fasciculate, axillary, ('axillaribus super basim') above the base.
