Philodendron heterophyllum Poepp.
SUMMARY
Stem scandent, internodes 5-10 cm long, 6-10 mm thick. LEAVES: petioles terete, scarcely swollen 10-15 cm long; Blade thinly coriaceous, strongly variable, oblong or obovate-oblong, gradually narrowing towards the base and at the very base abruptly contracted or broadly truncate, gradually narrowing towards the apex, always 1.5-2 cm long lanceolate-cuspidate, 15-25 cm long, up to 8 cm wide; Primary lateral veins 10-12 slender especially in basal portion, spreading almost horizontally from the slender midrib, curving upwards somewhat near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncles often paired 2-5 cm long, spathe green-white or basally purplish, narrowly ovate basally, scarcely convolute at the middle, upper portion opening broadly, acute, 5-6 cm long. Spadix, slender cylindroid, with an ca. 8 mm long stipe, female zone scarcely 2 cm long, male zone 4 cm long, 5 mm thick. Pistills ovoid, 4-locular, ovules paired in locules, stigma rather broad-rounded.
