SUMMARY
LEAVES: Petiole slender, 16-20 cm long, 4 mm thick; Blade herbaceous, ovate-cordate or oblong-ovate-cordate, 12-16 cm long, 7-10 cm wide; posterior lobes semi-ovate, ca. 3 cm long, 5 cm wide, separated by an open sub-triangular sinus; anterior lobe slightly narrowed towards the apex, with a rather long cuspidate apex, 3-4 times longer than the posterior lobes; primary lateral veins slender, 1-3 borne near the base, barely joined into posterior ribs, and 3-4 costal veins spreading from the rather thick midrib at an obtuse angle, fading before the margin, the lower part barely distinct, thereafter deliquescent. INFLORESCENCE: Spathe externally pale green; internally, the lower part purple, the upper part whitish, ca. 18 cm long, convolute, 2 cm in diameter, barely constricted. Spadix subsessile, cylindric, obtuse, eventually up to 20 cm long; female zone 7-8 cm long, 1.5 cm thick, male zone 10-12 cm long, 1.5 cm thick. Pistil short, barely 2 mm long, subtruncate, with a somewhat larger, orbicular stigma, 12 locular, ca. 3 ovules borne at the base of the locule. Male flowers usually tetrandrous.
