Philodendron lechlerianum Schott
SUMMARY
Stem terete, robust, internodes 3-8 cm long, 1.2-1.6 cm thick. LEAVES: Petiole semiterete, narrowly marginate, 12-15 cm long, 7 mm thick in the lower part, 4 mm thick in the upper part; Blade elongate-sagittate, gradually narrowing towards the apex, base cordate, 18-22 cm long, up to 12 cm wide; posterior lobes semiorbicular, separated buy a deep open sinus, 2.5-3 cm long, 5-6 cm wide; anterior lobe elongate-triangular acute, midrib thick, 3 basal primary lateral veins on each side, the lower two shortly joined together to form a posterior rib, 3-4 erect spreading costal veins. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 6-8 cm long, 3 cm thick. Spathe tube oblong, ca. 4 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, blade obtuse towards apex, apex itself shortly apiculate, 4-4.5 cm long. Spadix sessile, female zone, ca. 2 cm long, male zone cylindroid, obtuse, 4.5-5 cm long, almost 1 cm thick. Pistil elongate-turbinate, 1.5 mm long, 4-5-locular, ovules shortly biseriate, affixed by a short funicle.
