Philodendron leucanthum K.Krause
SUMMARY
Stem scandent, terete, slender, upper internodes 1.5-3.5 cm long, 8 mm thick. LEAVES: Petiole 10-13 cm long, sheath persistent, ending ca. 5 mm below the leaf blade, 6-8 mm wide on each side in the lower part, strongly narrowing upwards. Blade thinly coriaceous, oblique, ovate-oblong, or elliptic oblong, apex shortly obliquely acuminate, base subacute, 20-22 cm long, 7-8 cm wide, unequal-sided, one side 1/3-1/4 wider than the other; primary lateral veins 8-10 spreading from the midrib at an obtuse angle, ascending arcuately near the margin, somewhat stronger than the secondary and tertiary veins. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle short, terete, slender, 2.8 cm long. Spathe white, oblong, 6 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, apex ca. 7 mm long, cuspidate-acuminate. Spadix shortly stipitate, somewhat shorter than the spathe; female zone cylindric, 1.5 cm long, 6 mm thick; male zone more than 2 times longer than the female zone, equally thick, attenuating upwards, eventually obtuse. Pistil shortly prismatic, 4-6-locular, locules multiovulate. Male flowers 3-4-androus.
