Philodendron lindenii Schott
SUMMARY
Stem scandent, internodes elongated, green. Cataphyll white, linear, 8-10 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole terete, 25-35 cm long, 7-8 [mm] ('cm') thick in the lower part, slightly attenuating upwards. Blade thinly coriaceous, bright ('laete') green, cordate-ovate, 20-28 cm long, up to 20 cm wide in the lower part, posterior lobes semi-ovate, 4-6 cm long, separated by a deeply parabolic sinus, anterior lobe ovate, narrowing in an arcuate line towards the apex, apex itself slender-cuspidate, ca. 4 times longer than the posterior lobe; 4-5 primary lateral veins borne from the base, joined in short posterior ribs, in a sinus which is not at all denuded; 4-5 costal veins on each side, erect-spreading, arcuate near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 8-10 cm long. Spathe tube externally yellowish-green, internally red-purple at the base, whitish above, ovoid, 5-7 cm long; blade yellow, cymbiform, broadly ovate, ca. 6 cm long. Spadix subsessile, digitiform, female zone 3-5 cm long, 1 cm thick, male zone 4 cm long. Pistil ovoid-oblong, measuring 1.5 mm, usually 8-locular, locules uniovulate.
