Philodendron longilaminatum Schott
SUMMARY
Stem elongate, creeping, or sub-scandent, internodes 3-5 cm long. LEAVES: semiterete, narrowly sulcate, 35-45 cm long, 10-12 cm thick; Blade rigid, subcoriaceous, bright ('laete') green on the upper side, rather glaucous underneath, blade narrowly encircled with purple, elongate-lanceolate, apex rather long-acuminate, cuspidulate, cuneate towards the base, 40-120 cm long, barely to 10 cm wide, midrib rather flat on the upper side, highly prominent below, and primary lateral veins inconspicuous above, deep green below, in the form of fine parallel lines. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle up to 20 cm long. Spathe 16-18 cm long. Spadix subsessile narrowly cylindric, obtuse, ca. 15 cm long; female zone more than 2 times shorter than the male zone. Pistil usually 6-locular.
