SUMMARY
Epiphytic or epilithic herb, up to 1 m tall. Stem erect, internodes 0.2-0.5 x 3.5- 5 cm, prophylls persisting as fibers. Petiole 8-10 x 0.8-1.5 cm, essentially "u" shaped to strongly square, deeply sulcate, usually with an adaxial rib. Leaves 36-82 x 20-31 cm, elliptic to obovate, coriaceous, strongly undulated, secondary nelves 10-11 per side, arising at an angle of 35--45°, base acute to round or slightly cordate, apex acute to acuminate. Inflorescence erect, peduncle 11-41 x 0.11-0.8 cm, spathe ovate 3-6 x 2-3.5 cm, completely green or tinged purplish, spadix grayish, 4.1-10 x 0.8-1.6 cm, terete to tapering to the apex, rarely clavate, stipitate 0.3 x 0.4 cm. Flowers 2-3 x 2-3 mm, square. Berries red to wine-colored, 0.8-1 x 0.1-0.6 cm.
