Philodendron macropodum (Araceae)
Stem scandent, terete, moderately robust upper internodes 2-2.5 cm long, ca. 8 mm thick. LEAVES: Petiole somewhat shorter than the blade, 10-14 cm long, with a 1-1.2 cm long persistent subcoriaceous sheath, ending below the base of the blade, 6-7 mm wide on each side in the lower part, narrowing upwards, the uppermost apex rounded. Blade thinly coriaceous, ovate-elliptic, base obtuse, apex rounded or very shortly acuminate, 16-20 cm long, 10-12 cm wide, somewhat unequally sided; primary lateral veins 7-9 on each side, spreading at an obtuse angle from the midrib, ascending slightly arcuately near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle short, robust, 2.5 cm long. Spathe 10 cm long, expanded to 3.5 cm wide, white, ovate-oblong, apex ca. 1 cm long, cuspidate-acuminate. Spadix subsessile cylindric, apex subacute, somewhat shorter than the spathe; male zone ca. 2 times longer than the female zone. Pistils prismatic, 1.5-1.8 mm long, multi-locular; stigma small, rounded. Male flowers usually 3-4-androus.
