Philodendron micranthum Poepp. ex Schott

Stem scandent, internodes rather long, measuring 3-3.5 cm. LEAVES: Petiole terete, slender, up to 30 cm long, sheathed shortly at the base or up to 1/3 the length of the leaf. Primary leaf blade elongate-lanceolate, apex very long acuminate, shortly dentate in the lower part of one side above the base. The following leaf blade hastate or hastate-tripartite, the lateral sections two times narrower and shorter than the anterior; posterior ribs not at all denuded in the sinus. The biggest leaf blade tripartite, the lateral sections somewhat shorter than the middle one, separated by a very open sinus, oblong-lanceolate, cuspidate-acuminate, laterals somewhat narrower and unequal-sided; posterior ribs barely more slender than the midrib, shortly denuded in the sinus, disappearing towards the apex, lateral veins very dense, all equal, spreading; middle section of the adult blade 20-27 cm long, 6-10 cm wide, lateral sections 15-20 cm long, 5-8 cm wide, outer side 4-4.5 cm wide, inner side 3-3.5 cm wide. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncles slender, 4-7 cm long. Spathe white, oblong acuminate, 4.5-8 cm long, 2.2-2.6 cm wide. Spadix narrowly cylindric, subacute, 4-6 cm long, up to 6 mm thick; female zone ca. two times shorter than the male zone and somewhat narrower. Pistils very small, usually 6-locular.
