SUMMARY
Stem scandent. LEAVES: Petiole 60 cm long, shortly sheathed at the base; thereafter somewhat compressed, rather terete towards the apex, all densely covered in moderately long fibrilliform emergences. Blade rigid, sub-coriaceous, ovate-cordate, 45 cm long, 30 cm wide in the lower part; posterior lobes semi-ovate, 10-12 cm long and equally wide, separated by a rather wide parabolic sinus; anterior lobe ovate-triangular, apex acuminate, ca. 3 times longer than the posterior lobes; many primary lateral veins of the posterior lobes on each side, joined together into posterior ribs barely denuded in the sinus; 10 primary lateral veins in the anterior lobe on each side, emerging from the midrib at a 50º-60º angle, the rather strong veins coming forth at different directions than the more slender ones. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 7-8 cm long. Spathe smooth, oblong, apex shortly acuminate, very slightly constricted halfway, 12 cm long, convolute, almost 3 cm in diameter. Spadix sessile; female zone ca. 3 cm long, 1 cm thick; sterile male zone 1.5 cm, fertile male zone 5-6 cm long, claviform, obtuse. Pistils sub-cylindric, stigma small, discoid, 2 mm long. Stamens prismatic, almost 3 times longer than wide, anthers linear, not reaching the apex.
