SUMMARY
Hemiepiphytic vine; loosely climbing to 1.5–3 m on trees; Juvenile plants with internodes 3–9 cm long, to1 cm diam., the dried epidermis light brown, ridged longitudinally and cracked perpendicular to axis. LEAVES with petioles 8–12 cm long, ca 5 mm diam.; blades oblong-oblanceolate, 22–27.5 cm long, 7-7.7 cm wide, broadest well above the middle, narrowest within 5 cm of the base (4–5.1 cm wide) just above slightly flaring lateral lobes (these together, 4.6–6.1 cm wide), narrowly long-acuminate at apex, broadly acute to weakly attentuate at base. Adult plants with stems elongate to 3 m or more long, sometimes branching; roots one to several at each node, mostly less than 15 cm long, 2–3 mm diam.; internodes 3–20 cm long, 0.8–3 cm diam, usually drying deeply sulcate, green to light yellow-brown, becoming brown or gray-green, somewhat flattened on one side, semiglossy or matte, often with a peeling epidermis; cataphylls medium green, 7–20 cm long, dark green-speckled, 1 to 2 ribbed, (sometimes unribbed), deciduous; petioles terete to subterete, 6.5–41.5 cm long, 4–17 mm diam., ca. 2/3 as long as the blades, obtusely flattened to obtusely and broadly sulcate to C-shaped, spongy to moderately so, medium to dark green, weakly glossy, densely short-dark-lineate with obscure apical ring,; blades pandurate with a hastate base (deeply 3-lobed), cuspidate at apex, 24.5–43 cm long, 17–34 cm wide, broadest across lateral lobes, 1.1–1.6 times longer than wide, coriaceous to moderately coriaceous, dark green and semiglossy to matte above, paler and matte to weakly glossy below, drying light or greenish brown to dark brown or black; medial lobe 14–25 cm long, (6) 9.5–18 cm wide, broadest near the middle of the lobe, (2.0–)25–9.6 cm wide at the constricted part at base; lateral lobes (9.5–)14-30 cm long, 2.5–9.5 cm wide at the broadest point, 4.0–13.5 cm across the most constricted part (measuring from the apex of the petiole to the sinus of the lateral lobes and medial lobe); sinus (4) 7.5–13.5 (16.5) cm deep; midrib concolorous, flat to broadly convex above, densely speckled, raised to narrowly rounded or convex, slightly paler below; primary lateral veins 5–7 pairs, these mostly in the area between the base and the sinus of the lateral lobes, arising from the midrib at an acute angle then spreading at 45–55° angle, slightly and obtusely sunken, concolorous above, convex and slightly paler below, drying paler or darker than surface; minor veins weakly visible to moderately distinct on drying. INFLORESCENCES usually two per axil 1 or more commonly 2 per axil; peduncle 5.5–10.5 cm long, ca. 1 cm diam, terete, about as long as the spathes, medium green, densely dark green-speckled, clearly demarcated from spathe; spathe 8–12.5 cm long, 2.5–3.3 cm diam., medium green to whitish or yellowish white, (may be redish inside), semiglossy throughout, densely pale-speckled outside, dark brown (post-anthesis) within, tube greenish to whitish outside, sometines reddish, cream within; spadix exserted 8–10 mm beyond the end of the blade at anthesis, ca. 9.5 cm long, pistillate portion yellow and ca. 4.5 cm long, staminate portion pink, ca. 5 cm long, sterile staminate portion slightly thicker than fertile staminate portion with irregular flowers in 2 spirals.
