SUMMARY
Caudex thick, abbreviated, covered with dilacerated, matted hairy cataphylls. LEAVES: Petiole half the length of the blade, about 20 cm long, rounded dorsally, canaliculate above, geniculum not strongly thickened, 1 – 1.5 cm long, blade lanceolate, somewhat obtuse at base, shortly acuminate, ca. 35 cm long, ca. 6 – 8 cm long at the base of the upper third, lateral veins numerous, slender (somewhat prominulent when dry), joined into a collective vein a little distant from margin, lower down more remote from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle shorter than the petiole (ca. 20 cm long). Spathe linear, shortly ( 4 – 5 mm long) acuminate, ca. 6 cm long, 8 mm wide. Spadix sessile ca. 1.5 times longer than spathe (ca. 10 cm long), below 4 mm thick, myosuroid, dark purple. Tepals no longer than wide (ca. 1 mm long and wide), purplish. Ovary ovoid.
