Philodendron recurvifolium Schott

The whole plant except for the leaf blades sprinkled with irregular punctiform dots. Stem internodes elongate. LEAVES: Petiole subterete, 10-12 cm long, the lowermost part broadly sheathed, at first stretched out and forward, finally arcuately recurved. Blade green, margin bordered with purple, suboblong-cordate-sagittate, 12-18 cm long, 8-12 cm wide in the lower part; posterior lobes short, semi-elliptic, separated by an open sub-acute sinus; Anterior lobe gradually longly narrowed towards the apex, the uppermost apex cuspidulate-acuminate, midrib rather flat above, high-prominent underneath, posterior ribs denuded in the sinus, soon deliquescent, primary and secondary veins scarcely apparent, spreading at an obtuse angle from the midrib, ascending arcuately towards the apex. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle solitary, ca. 10 cm long, recurving in fruit. Spathe green externally, 8-10 cm long, tube ellipsoid, internally crimson, 4-5 cm long, blade internally pale green, opening scaphiform ('scaphiformis'), tube equally long. Spadix on an almost 1 cm long stipe, cylindroid, female zone almost 2 times shorter than the male zone. Pistils shortly cylindroid, 3-4-locular, stigma somewhat larger, orbicular.
