SUMMARY
Stems to 5 dm [50 cm] long, internodes about 1 cm long; Cataphylls decomposed (or disarranged, falling apart) stupposely (with tow-like fibers) covering (or enveloping) internodes. LEAVES: Petiole 1 1/2 times longer than blade, canaliculate; geniculum short; Blades subcoriaceous, dark green, lanceolate, obtuse at the base, narrowly acuminate, very acute, together with (or including) the acumen (1.5-2 cm long and 2 mm wide), 1.6-1.8 dm [16 -18 cm] long, 6 cm wide in lower half; lateral veins spreading at a 90 degree angle, coalesced in a collective vein a very little way from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle about 2.5-2.8 dm [25 - 28 cm] long, together with the spadix barely equalling the whole leaf; Spathe linear-lanceolate, briefly decurrent, 2.5 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, from brown becoming green; Spadix twice as long as spathe, 4-5 cm long, 4 mm diam. INFRUCTESCENCE: Berries obovoid.
