Philodendron stenophyllum K.Krause

Stem terete, robust, prorepent or scandent on trees. LEAVES: Blade rigid, sub-coriaceous, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, apex rather long acute, acuminate, narrowing in a slightly arcuate line towards the base, the base itself subrounded, 40-60 cm long, 8-12 cm wide in the upper third to quarter; primary lateral veins very numerous and very dense, all subequal and parallel, commonly [departing] the midrib at an obtuse angle, ascending slightly arcuately, midrib robust at the base, 8-10 mm wide, gradually attenuating upwards, eventually almost all disappearing. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle terete, 5-6 cm long, 6-7 cm thick. Spathe pink, oblong, shortly apiculate, ca. 7 cm long, convolute, 1-1.2 cm in diameter. Spadix subsessile; female zone ca. 3.5 cm long, 8 mm thick; male zone cylindroid, obtuse, equal in length to the female zone, 6 mm thick halfway, sub-equally thick at both ends. Male flowers usually tetrandrous. Pistils subprismatic, 2-2.3 mm long, 8-9-locular, 2-4 ovules in each locule, affixed by funicles near the base.
