SUMMARY
Largely scandent; internodes 1-1.5 dm [10 - 15 cm] long, 8-10 mm diam.; cataphylls lanceolate, largely persisting. LEAVES: Petiole 2-3 cm long, flattened laterally, level (or even) above, marginate; blades pellucid-dotted, ovate-elliptical, rounded at the base, abruptly and briefly cuspidate, 2-3 dm [20 - 30 cm] long, 8-12 cm wide, primary lateral veins 10-12 pairs spreading at a 90 degree angle, 1-1.5 cm apart, coalescing into a collective vein 8-12 mm from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle erect, rigid, at anthesis somewhat equalling internodes and half of leaf, 1.2-1.5 dm [12 - 15 cm] long; spathe linear-lanceolate, papery, persisting, 6-8 cm long, about 1 cm wide at the base. Spadix sessile, cylindrical, dark purple, 1.2-1.8 dm [12 - 18 cm] long, 3 mm diam.
