Philodendron yavitense G.S.Bunting
SUMMARY
Scandent herb. Stem to 1.4 cm in diameter, internodes naked 0.7-0.9 cm long (to 10.5 cm long in the lower part). Cataphyll 12.7 cm long, from green to white, hyaline towards the margins, caducous. LEAVES: Petiole rigid, rounded abaxially, broadly canaliculate adaxially, pale green, 11-12 cm long. Leaf blade upright on the petiole, coriaceous nevertheless more or less brittle, narrowly obovate-spathulate, undulate, 38-40 cm long, 9.3-9.7 cm wide (at the point 25-27 cm above the petiole), obtuse at the base, acute or almost acute at the apex, apex itself acuminate (2-3 cm). Adaxially deep green, glaucescent; midrib somewhat concave, 0.9 cm near the base, flat or somewhat convex upwards; primary lateral veins 7-8 on both sides, departing at an angle of ca. 65-70º, all minor veins apparently subequal on both surfaces. INFLORESCENCE unknown.
