Anthurium balaoanum Engl.
SUMMARY
Stems slender, climbing, internodes ca. 6 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole sulcate above, 55 cm long, blade subcoriaceous, green on both sides, sagittate, ca. 35 cm long, 25 cm wide, with a 1.5 cm long acumen, anterior lobe triangular, acuminate, narrowing by a line (margin) curving somewhat introrsely at first and then extrorsely, posterior lobes separated by a parabolic sinus, 12cm long, 10 cm wide, very obtuse, introrse, primary lateral veins of the anterior lobe separated by an interval of 2.5 – 3 cm, on each side 9 costal veins and 2 basal veins, spreading, slender, joined into a collective vein situated near the margin, veins of the posterior lobes 5 on each side, joined into ribs forming a right angle and long-denuded in the sinus, upwardly turned near the margin and running into the margin. INFLORESCENCE lacking,; but label states “spadix brown, berry violaceous”.
