SUMMARY
Stem ascending to 100 cm long, 2 cm thick, internodes short. Cataphylls 2 – 10 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole nearly twice as long as blade, equalling ca. 40 cm. Blade coriaceous, obscurely green, about 30 cm long and 20 cm wide, oblong-ovate-cordate, posterior lobes 2.5 times shorter than anterior lobe, semi-ovate, retrorse, separated by a parabolic sinus, ca. 9 cm long, 10 cm wide, anterior lobe narrowed by an extrorsely shortly arcuate line, with acumen 2 cm long, 3 mm wide, primary lateral veins of the midrib arcuately ascending and joining with the basal primaries of the anterior lobe and with the inter-lobe primaries into a collective vein a little distant from the margin, basal primary lateral veins of the posterior lobes turning backwards, strongly curved and running out into the margin, fused proximally into basal ribs long denuded (2.5 cm) in the sinus, all primaries strongly prominent below. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle a little shorter than petiole, ca. 35 cm long. Spathe broadly oblong-ovate, acuminate, ca. 12 cm long, 5 cm wide, dark brown. Spadix with a stipe 2 cm long, 10 cm long, when fully developed 1.5 cm thick below, somewhat narrowing upwards. Tepals 3 mm long, 1.5 mm wide. Stamens eventually 4 mm long. Pistils oblong-conic, 3 mm long, 1.5 mm thick.
