Anthurium coerulescens Engl.
SUMMARY
Caudicles (small stems) up to 2 m long, 1 - 1.5 cm thick, internodes ca. 5 cm long. Cataphylls 4 - 5 cm long. LEAVES: Petiole ca. 18 cm long, slender, geniculum somewhat long. Blade subcoriaceous, bluish-green, broadly triangular-sagittate, 12 - 14 cm long, 8 - 10 cm wide, anterior lobe continuous with posterior lobes, oblong-triangular, 12 - 15 cm long, narrowly acuminate, acute, posterior lobes divergent, obtuse, 2.5 - 3 cm long, 5 cm wide, separated by a wide sinus, primary lateral veins of the midrib ca. 4 - 5 on each side, slender, joined with the basal veins into a collective vein distant from the margin, basal and interlobe vein spreading and the two veins of the posterior lobes turning upwards not far from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle ca. 15 cm long. Spathe lanceolate, 6 cm long, 1.5 cm wide, with a 1 cm long acumen, olive green. Spadix when young having a stipe 5 - 6 mm long, 8 cm long, 6 mm thick. Tepals a little longer than broad. Stamens broadly linear a little longer than the tepals. Ovary conoid, grading into a short style.
