SUMMARY
Geophytic herb, stem tuberous, 0.5-1 x 1.3-2 cm. Petioles cylindric, 7-25 x 0.2-0.5 cm, green, sheathed to 1/4-1/3 of the petiole, leaf blade oblong to ovate, 5.5-15 x 1-6.5 cm, frequently variegated, base symmetric to completely oblique, truncate to sagittate or subhastate, secondary nerves 1-4 per side, usually concentrated at the basal half, arising at an angle of 30-90°, converging or not in a collective vein, apex cuspidate to acuminate. Inflorescence solitary or in pairs, erect at anthesis and pending at fruiting. Spathe green, oblongto elliptic, 4-8.5 x 1-1.2 cm, acute, oblique, apex cuspidate to acuminate. Peduncle 6 x 25 x 0.1-0.3 cm. Spadix completely adnate to the spathe, 2-5 cm long. Synandria 3-5-androus, filaments 1.5- 2 mm long, thecae yellow, connective 3-4-lobed. Female flowers surrounded by fungiform staminodes, 1 x 0.5 mm, stigma capitate, style inconspicuous, ovary obconical. Fruit 3- 6 x 3-5 mm. Seed verrucate, wide-ovate, 2- 5 x 3-4 mm.
