SUMMARY
Underground part a short, tuberous rhizome, ca. 1.5 × 1.2cm. Petiole 6–12cm; leaf blade rarely entire and then linear, usually deeply 3-lobed or 3-partite; segments sessile, linear; terminal segment 8–10cm × 3–8mm, acuminate; lateral segments horizontally spreading, 1.7–4.5cm × 3–4mm. Inflorescence appearing after leaves; peduncle 8–10cm. Spathe convolute at base, dark purple, basally ovoid, ca. 1.5 × 1.2cm, apex constricted; limb ovate-lanceolate, ca. 17 × 5–6cm, distal half narrowed, linear, recurved. Spadix shorter than spathe, 13–17cm; female zone ca. 5mm; ovary ovoid, 1-loculed, 1ovuled; stigma disciform; sterile zone ca. 1.4cm, proximal 1–2mm covered with staminodes, rest naked; staminodes down-curved, filiform; male zone 8–18mm; appendix shortly stipitate, suberect, 10–13cm, base swollen, 3–5mm in diam., sub-truncate. Berries ovoid, 1-seeded.
