Anthurium dendrobates (Araceae)
Stem scandent, robust, 2.5-3 cm diam.; internodes 5-8 cm long; cataphylls coriaceous, elongate-lanceolate, chestnut-ochre-yellow, soon weathered into fibers, 2-2.5 dm [20 - 25 cm] long, arising into apex, [the apex] 10-12 mm long. LEAVES: Petiole erect, rigid, subcylindrical, unisulcate adaxially, 4-5 dm [40 - 50 cm] long; geniculum 2.5-3 cm long; blades thickly coriaceous, intensely green above, shiny, paler below, oval-lanceolate, 4.5-5.5 dm 45 - 55 cm] long, 1.8-2.2 dm [18 - 22 cm] wide; posterior lobes 1/3 as long as the anterior lobe, connivent and overlapping; sinus oval; anterior lobe extended upward from the wider base in a mildly convex line; primary lateral veins of the posterior lobes 7, embedded above, prominent below, joined into ribs naked 4-5 cm along the sinus, decidedly arcuate, merging in the margin; the interlobar basal veins, together with the 10-12 pairs primary lateral veins of the anterior lobe, joined into a collective vein 6-8 mm from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle longer than petiole, subcylindrical, mildly keeled, thickened under the spathe; spathe coriaceous coppery-greenish, 7-9-veined below, oblong-lanceolate, cuspidate at the apex, 1.5 dm [15 cm] long, 4.5 cm wide at the base; spadix cylindrical, ochre-yellow-greenish, 1.5 dm [15 cm] long, 12-15 mm diam. in fruit, stipitate 1.5 cm; tepals 3 mm long, 2 mm wide; filaments equalling tepals; ovary oblong-conical, obtusely four-angled.
