SUMMARY
Stem scandent; internodes about 2 cm long, 1 cm diam., entirely covered with fibers of disintegrated (or weathered, literally, destroyed) cataphylls. LEAVES: Petiole longer than blade, 2.5-3 dm [25 - 30 cm] long; geniculum about 12 mm long; blades not at all thick, lanceolate, obtuse or acute at the base, acuminate at the apex, about 2-2.5 dm [20 - 25 cm] long, 6-7 cm wide, acumen 2 cm long; primary lateral veins numerous, 5-8 mm apart, spreading at a 90 degree angle, coalesced in a collective vein away from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle overtopping petiole, about 3.5 dm [35 cm] long; spathe linear-lanceolate, acuminate, 6 cm long, 1 cm wide; spadix stipitate 4-5 mm, 1 dm [10 cm] long, 5 mm diam.
