SUMMARY
Description based upon herbarium material. Herbaceous terrestrial, sciophilous; STEM erect; internodes 1.1-1.9 cm long; cataphylls castaneous, intact to slightly decomposed at apex, castaneous-brownish, intact at apex, intact, persistent to caducous towards the base of the stem, 3.7-4.1 cm long; prophylls idem, 1.1-1.9 cm long. LEAVES with petioles erect, sulcate with margins rounded adaxially, rounded abaxially, 9.5-14.1 x 0.18-0.24 cm; geniculum 0.7-1 cm long.; blades greenish discolorous, chartaceous, erect, lanceolate, equally narrowed towards both extremities, apex rostrate, base acute, 23.5-27.3 x 4.2-5.5 cm; midrib rounded abaxially, acute adaxially; primary lateral veins ca. 10-11 on both sides; collecting vein starting from the base of blade or above it, 0.5-0.7 cm away from the margin. INFLORESCENCE with peduncle 4.6 x 0.07 cm; spathe greenish, lanceolate, deflexed at anthesis, 1.6 X 0.5 cm, forming a right angle with the peduncle; spadix vinaceous, cylindrical, shortly stipitate, 1.8 x 0.38 cm, stipe 0.1 cm long; flowers 5-6 at primary spiral, 3-4 at secondary; tepals with lighter punctuations externally, cucullate, lateral ones lightly convex internally, slightly acute externally, 0.12 x 0.13 cm, posterior and anterior ones strongly convex internally and sub carinate externally, 0.12 x 0.1-0.11 cm; androecium with thin stamens opposite the lateral tepals, stamens opposite the posterior and anterior tepals with filaments lightly thickened, convex ventrally and concave dorsally, 0.16-0.19 x 0.05-0.1 cm; gynoecium with a prominent stigma, ovary oblong, sessile, bilocular, 1 ovule per locule with apical placentation, 0.12-0.14 x 0.07-0.08 cm; berries not observed.
