SUMMARY
Description based upon herbarium material. Herbaceous rupicolous, heliophilous. STEM erect; internodes very short, 0.1-0.2 cm long; cataphylls castaneous in dried material, intact to decomposed at apex, castaneous-brownish, intact at apex, lightly decomposed to decomposed and caducous towards the base of the stem, 3.6 cm long; prophylls idem, 1.5 cm long; sheath of petiole 1.2 cm long. LEAVES with petioles rounded abaxially, margins subacute to acute adaxially, 6.2-7.5 x 0.14-0.2 cm; geniculum 0.4-0.7 cm long; blades greenish, erect, chartaceous in dried material, lanceolate, base acute, apex acute, shortly apiculate, 18.1-22.2 x 3.7-5 cm; midrib rounded on both surfaces; primary lateral veins 9-11 on both sides; collecting vein starting from the base of blade, 0.3-0.5 cm away from the margin. INFLORESCENCE with peduncle ca. 34.4 x 0.85 cm; spathe sub-chartaceous, vinaceous, 3.6 X 1.1 cm triangular-lanceolate, forming an acute angle with the peduncle, decurrent 0.3 cm long; spadix vinaceous, cylindrical, 3.2 x 0.36 cm, sessile; flowers 5 at primary spiral, 3-4 at secondary; tepals with verrucose ornamentations externally, cucullate, lateral ones lightly convex internally, acute externally, posterior and anterior ones strongly convex internally and subcarinate externally, 0.13-0.15 X 0.12-0.15 cm; androecium with stamens opposite to the lateral tepals with thin filaments, stamens opposite the posterior and anterior tepals with thickened filaments, concave dorsally and flattened ventrally, 26-0.28 x 0.09-0.18 cm; gynoecium with punctuation between the ovary and stigma, prominent stigma, ovary oblong, sessile, bilocular, 1 ovule per locule with median axile placentation, 0.18-0.19 x 0.11 cm; berries not observed.
