SUMMARY
Herb rupicolous or terrestrial. STEM erect; internodes extremely short;cataphylls castaneous to brownish, decomposed to rarely intact at apex, decomposed to caducous towards the base of the stem, 1.6-5.4 x 1.2 cm; prophylls castaneous to brownish, rarely intact, lightly decomposed at apex, decomposed to caducous towards the base of the stem, 0.95-2 cm long; sheath of petiole 0.5-0.95 cm long. LEAVES with petioles greenish, lightly channeled with subacute margins adaxially, rounded abaxially, 2.1-18.9 x 0.3 cm; geniculum lightly clearer than petiole, 0.2-0.7 cm long; blades greenish, discolorous, suberect, chartaceous, linear-lanceolate, equally narrowed at both extremities, base acute to shortly cuneate, apex rostrate-apiculate, 19-37.3 x 1.6-3.9 cm; midrib rounded on both surfaces; primary lateral veins obscure adaxially and only visible abaxially, 13-17; conecting veins starting from the base of blade, 0.05-0.5 cm away from the margin, rarely extending up to the margin. INFLORESCENCE with peduncle erect, vinaceous before anthesis, becoming greenish-vinaceous, rounded to lightly angled, rigid, 12.5-25.5 x 0.2-0.26 cm; spathe membranaceous, flattened, persistent, greenish-vinaceous, lanceolate, suberect at start of anthesis, perpendicular to subreflexed at anthesis, forming an acute angle with the peduncle of anthesis, subchartaceous, vinaceous, 3.6 X 1.1 cm triangular-lanceolate, decurrent 0.3-0.5 cm long, 1.7-4.2 x 0.2-0.9 cm; spadix castaneous to brownish at anthesis, sessile, cylindrical, 3.85-8.5 x 0.22-0.46 cm; flowers five in transverse section of spadix, in primary spiral 5, in secondary 3; tepals with rugose walls externally, greenish with punctuations or ornamentations, anterior and posterior ones strongly acute dorsally and strongly concave ventrally, lateral ones acute dorsally and lightly convex ventrally, 0.12-0.13 x 0.11-0.20 cm, androecium with stamens opposite the anterior and posterior tepals with thickened filaments being concave dorsally and flattened ventrally, stamens opposite the lateral tepals with thin and flattened, anthers elliptic, dorsifixed, 0.13-0.18 x 0.05-0.09 cm, gynoecium greenish, without punctuations or ornamentations, ovary oblong, bilocular, sessile, stigma lightly prominent, 1 ovule per locule with subapical placentation; berries greenish.
