SUMMARY
Scandent, to 3 m long; internodes 8-10 cm long, 1 cm diam.; cataphylls parchment-like, lanceolate, overtopping internodes. LEAVES: Petiole almost equal to internodes, 1/3 as long as blade, 8-10 cm long, briefly sheathed at base; geniculum 10-12 mm long, deeply canaliculate; blades coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate, 2.8-3 dm [28 - 30 cm] long, 4.5 cm wide, more prominently narrowed toward base, more briefly upward into briefly acuminate apex; primary and secondary lateral veins together with (or as well as) reticulate veins very slender, collective vein 2.5-3 mm from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 3 times as long as (literally "triply longer than") petiole, to 3 dm [30 cm] long; spathe cartilaginous, linear-lanceolate, shorter than spadix, spreading at a 90 degree angle; spadix sessile, rigid, a little attenuate upward (or from below); tepals cuneate, twice as long as wide, ash-gray. INFRUCTESCENCE 8-10 cm long; berries somewhat globose, a little attenuate (tapering) on both sides, yellowish at the apex, yellow-reddish below.
