SUMMARY
Usually epiphytic, seldom terrestrial; stem scandent to 5 dm [50 cm] long, 4 cm diam.; internodes thick; cataphylls lanceolate, decidedly elongate. LEAVES: Petiole of larger leaves 3.5 dm [35 cm] long, slightly terete; blades, adult very thick, dark green somewhat triangular-sagittate, 4 dm [40 cm] long, 2.8 dm [28 cm] wide; the anterior lobe triangular, narrowed gradually, acute; posterior lobes about 1 dm long and 1.3 dm [13 cm] wide, divergent at the base, the apical part turned introrsely; sinus parabolic, broad; primary lateral veins about 9 pairs 1.5-2 cm apart, departing from the midrib at about a 50-60 degree angle, joined into a collective vein 2-3 mm from the margin; interlobar vein spreading at about a 90 degree angle and veins of the posterior lobes 7 pairs spreading at about a 90 degree angle, joined into ribs naked at the sinus, turned upward near the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle about 4 dm [40 cm] long; spathe broadly lanceolate, cuspidate; spadix short-stipitate; tepals twice as long as wide; ovary oblong-conoid.
