Culcasia caudata Engl.
SUMMARY
LEAVES: Stem rather slender creeping and rooting, internodes 4-5 cm long, 2 mm thick, longitudinally sulcate. Petiole 1.5 x shorter than the blade, sheathed for 1/3 the length, 5-6 cm long. Blade thin, elongate-lanceolate, somewhat unequal, caudate with a tail like appendage-accuminate, 12-15 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, acumen 2 cm long, base 2-3 mm wide. primary lateral veins ca. 6-7 patent on each side, joined into a collective vein 2 mm from the margin. Cataphylls linear, sheath 2-2.5 cm long. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle ca. 5 cm long. Spathe ovate, conchiform, 2 cm long, 1.5 cm wide, whitish. Spadix overtopping the spathe, 2.5 cm long, 5mm thick; female zone 5 mm, male zone 2cm long.
