SUMMARY
Plant erect on pubescent stilt roots; stem 35-40 cm high, occasionally 1m, ca. 5 mm diam.; Internodes short, 1-3 cm. LEAVES in a cluster at the apex of the stem; Petiole 2-9.5 cm, canaliculate; sheath broad, ending in two auricles at 0.5-2.5 cm from the apex of the petiole; blade 8.5-25 cm, oblanceolate, sometimes oblong-oblanceolate, attenuate at base, shortly acuminate at the oblique apex, covered with black glandular dashes, translucent; 10-15 pairs of primary veins, prominent, between which, the numerous veinlets are almost parallel.; primary veins and veinlets joining up in an intramarginal vein. INFLORESCENCE solitary, terminal; Peduncle 2-4 cm; spathe green, 2.5-3.5 cm; spadix stipitate, stipe 5-6 mm; ovary bilocular. INFRUCTESCENCE: Berries 1-8, red, voluminous and globose, 2-3 cm diam.
