Amorphophallus amygdaloides
Tuber depressed globose, 5–13 × 3–8 cm, seasonally producing a few thick, fusiform offsets, these easily detaching from the main tuber, 1–7 × 1–3.5 cm; petiole to 80 × 2.5 cm, smooth, mid to pale green with many circular or elliptic paler spots; leaf blade ca 120 cm diam., rachises winged distally from the basal branchings; leaflets elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, to 18 × 6 cm, mid-green adaxially. Inflorescence solitary, long pedunculate; peduncle 47–50 × 1.2 cm, appearance as petiole; spathe elliptic, 21–24 × 20 cm, strongly concave, hooded, acute, base coriaceous, shortly convolute, exterior pale green with whitish green spots, interior uniformly whitish green but for a very small pinkish zone at the base, base within smooth; spadix shorter than spathe, 15 cm long, stipitate; stipe 0.5–1 cm long; pistillate flower zone cylindrical, 2 × 2 cm, flowers congested; ovaries depressed, mostly quandrangular in outline, 2 × 2.5 mm, apex truncate, whitish green, bilocular; style 1 mm long, 1.3 mm in diam., whitish green; stigma hemispherical, elliptic in outline, 1 mm long, 2–3 mm in diam., shallowly or more distinctly bi- or trilobed, lobes obtuse, surface verruculate, pale yellow; sterile interstice between staminate and pistillate flower zones short, slightly fusiform, 1–1.5 × 2.2–2.5 cm, entirely covered with congested staminodes; staminodes thick cylindrical, 2.5–3 mm long, 3–4 mm, angular, apex slightly hemispherical, smooth, creamy white; staminate flower zone cylindrical, apex slightly truncate, 3–4 × 2 cm, flowers congested; staminate flowers 4–5-androus; stamens 3 mm long; filaments 1 mm long, partly or entirely connate, creamy white; appendix fusiform-conical, 7–8 × 2.7–3 cm, sometimes laterally compressed, base constricted, apex subacute, surface smooth, creamy white. Fruit not seen.
