SUMMARY
Tuber broadly elongate, 1–3.5 × 1–5 cm. Leaf solitary; petiole 3–6 cm × 0.5–2 mm, pale green, entirely subterranean; leaf blade 8–20 cm, consisting of 5–ca. 7 leaflets; leaflets elliptic-obovate, 2–9 × 1–5.5 cm, acuminate, adaxially green or with few or numerous small, rounded, white spots, margin often undulate. Inflorescence solitary, short pedunculate, partly subterranean; peduncle 1 cm × 2 mm, smooth, white, entirely subterranean; spathe tubular, swollen in the middle, 1.7–3.5 × 3.5–4.5 cm, lower part of the base convolute with margins shortly overlapping and fused along a line close to the margins, upper part of the base convolute, exterior pale purplish or pale greenish whitish, interior smooth, densely purple punctate or pale greenish whitish, limb slightly dilated then shallowly constricted towards the narrow collar-like upper part, exterior dilated part whitish, interior white, exterior upper part densely brownish purple punctate or uniformly dark brown or pale green, interior similar, margin slightly undulating; spadix sessile or short stipitate, longer than spathe, 6.5–11.5 cm long; pistillate flower zone short, consisting of one whorl of flowers or only 2, or more, 2–7 × 4–6 mm, flowers distant; ovaries depressed, 1 mm × ca 0.7 mm, the acroscopic side slightly higher (‘stylar region’), basal half white, upper half dirty purplish, white punctate, or off white, style (‘stylar region’) 0.2 mm × 0.4 mm; stigma depressed, ca 0.8 × 0.5 mm high, shallowly bilobed, surface densely papillate, dirty brownish purple or very pale pinkish. sterile interstice 2–3 mm long, naked or with one or a few staminodes; staminodes cushion-shaped, depressed or conical, ca 1 × 0.7–1 mm high, colour as ovaries; staminate flower zone cylindrical, 0.7–1 cm × 2.5–4 mm, flowers distant sometimes distinctly helically arranged; staminate flowers 1–3-androus; stamens 1–1.3 mm white or purplish with white punctations; anthers truncate, 0.7–1 × 1–1.5 mm, off-white, sometimes flushed dirty purple; appendix erect or slightly bent, elongate, narrowly conical or nearly terete, near filiform, 5–9.5 cm × 2–3 mm, smooth or with a few scattered, flat, conical warts, dirty brownish or pale greenish yellowish, the base with or without an indistinct purplish flush. Fruit not seen.
