SUMMARY
Tuber shortly elongate, or subglobose, often somewhat irregular, rarely (young tubers) depressed globose, rarely branched, ca 2–6 × 1.5–9 cm. Leaf solitary; petiole 10–40 cm × 0.5–1.5 mm, smooth, uniformly reddish brown or pale olive-brown; leaf blade moderately dissected, 10––55 cm, rachises narrowly winged distally from the main branching-points; leaflets elliptic-lanceolate, obovate or oblong, 3–13 × 1.0–7 cm, base long or short decurrent or constricted, upper side very dark velvety bluish green with a reddish margin, lower side flushed iridescent purple-red. Inflorescence solitary, long pedunculate; peduncle appearance as petiole or paler, 18–42 × 0.5–1 cm; spathe triangular, base convolute and with rather strong concave sides, top acute, 1.5–10 × 1.5–9 cm, outside and inside creamy white or pinkish white, base within dirty brownish red and with scattered or numerous fleshy, shortly elongate, irregularly branched or laterally flattened warts; spadix sessile, longer than spathe, 5–14.5 cm long; pistillate flower zone shortly cylindrical, 0.5–1.5 × 0.4–1 cm, flowers congested or slightly distant; ovaries depressed, diamond-shaped, angular or circular in cross-section, 2.5 × 1–1.4 mm, pale green, unilocular; style short, 0.3–0.7 × ca 1 mm, pale green; stigma hemispherical or depressed, slightly angular in cross-section, 1–1.8 mm × 0.5 mm high, very shallowly multilobed and with a shallow central depression, surface verruculate, dirty creamy white; staminate flower zone fusiform, fusiform-obconical or slightly conical, 2–5 × 0.4–1.3 cm, flowers congested; staminate flowers 3–8-androus; stamens ca 1 mm long; filaments ca 0.6 mm long, entirely connate; stamens white with a pale greenish hue, pores apical, oval at anthesis; appendix elongate-fusiform, smooth, very pale green or creamy white, top obtuse, 2.5–8 × 0.4–1.3 cm, producing a heavy gaseous smell at pistillate anthesis. Infructescence globose; fruit ovate-lageniform, ca 10 × ca 6 mm, maturing from green to white, one-seeded; seeds ovate, ca 9 × 5 mm, seed coat bright green.
