SUMMARY
Stems small ('caudiculi'), ca. 1 cm thick, internodes 1 cm long. Cataphylls elongate-triangular, acuminate, soon becoming fibrous at the base. LEAVES: Petiole 4-5 times shorter than blade, thickened at the base and shortly sheathed, adaxially slightly canaliculated, geniculum barely 1 cm long, tumid [swollen], 57 cm long (including Geniculum). Blade rather rigid, elongate-oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, equally narrowed from the middle at both ends, cuneate at base, 20-26 cm long, 3-5.5 cm wide, apex shortly and very acutely acuminate, primary lateral veins ca. 12-15 on each side, joined into a collective vein situated about 1/7 from the side of the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slender, nearly twice as long as petiole, 13-15 cm long. Spathe reflexed, linear, shortly acuminate, ca. 3.5 cm long, 5-6 mm wide. Spadix sessile or subsessile, in fruit 6 cm long, 7 mm thick.
