Anthurium longistamineum (Araceae)
Stems small, climbing, up to 1.3 m long, internodes short. Cataphylls persistent, eventually decomposing into fibres. LEAVES: Petiole 35 cm long, geniculum quite long. Blade subcoriaceous, darkish green, sagittate, ca. 25 cm long, below 13 cm wide, posterior lobes 6-7 cm long, 5 cm wide, oblong, obtuse, separated by a bell-shaped sinus, anterior lobe subtriangular, very acute and shortly acuminate, basal primary lateral veins 4, recurved and joined into basal ribs which are shortly denuded in the sinus, primary lateral veins of the midrib 7 on each side, joined into a collective vein 2 mm distant from the margin, the reticulate veins prominent when dried. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 20 cm long. Spathe ca. 6 cm long, 2 cm wide in lower part, with a 4-5 mm long acumen, lanceolate, copper-coloured, long-decurrent on the peduncle. Spadix red-brown, with stipe nearly 2 cm long but mostly adnate to the spathe, 7 cm long, 5 mm thick. Tepals eventually ca. 2.5 mm long. Stamens with anthers 3 mm long, filaments linear, thecae oblong. Ovary ovoid and contracted into a somewhat shorter, conical style.
Subequatorial Andine Province: Colombia. Cauca, in dense rainforest of the western cordillera of Cali, Cimaronas, Rio Bitaco and Rio Dagua, and Las Anayes near Popayan.
