SUMMARY
Geophyte herb growing in well drained soil. Stem tuberous, yellow-fleshed, 5 - 7 x 6 - 9 cm. Petiole pruinose 51 - 70 x 0.6 - 1 cm. Leaf usually solitary, always peltate, and cordate or sagittate in outline, 23 - 30 x 15 - 19 cm, leaf blade glossy green adaxially, bluish green abaxially, speckled in silvery white, anterior division 12 - 15 x 13 - 17 cm, 4 - 6 primary lateral ribs per side, arising in an angle of 60 - 70u, fusing in a collective nerve which is 0.8 - 1 cm from leaf margin, apex acuminate, posterior divisions 8 - 10 x 15 - 17 cm, acroscopic nerves 3 - 5 basioscopic nerves 5 - 7, obtuse to round in lobe apex. Inflorescence solitary, arising before the leaves, peduncle erect, 15 - 23 x 0.5 - 0.8 cm, spathe 7.3 - 9 cm long, tube 3 - 4 3 2.5 - 3 cm, green outside, whitish green inside, lamina 4 - 5 x 3 - 4 cm, white at both surfaces. Spadix 4.5 - 9 cm long, fertile male portion white 2.2 - 5 3 0.6 - 0.8 cm, sterile male portion white, moderately dimorphic, 2 - 2.8 x 0.6 - 0.8 cm, feminine portion yellowish, 1.4 - 2 3 0.7 - 0.9 cm. Gynoecium 2.5 - 3 x 1 - 2 mm, style slightly broader and up to 2 times longer than the ovary but not conspicuously discoid or coherent, stigma brush-like, ovary 1 - 2-ovulated, uniloculed, ovules inserting at basal portion of ovary wall, synandrium prismatic, 2 - 4-androus, 2 - 3 x 1.8 - 2.5 mm, staminodes more or less clavate apically, 1 - 1.5 3 1 mm, larger and elongated basally. Pollen grains shed in monads. Infructescence unknown.
